Mission
The Midtown Church of Christ exist for such divine purposes as eternal salvation and God’s glory! We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word and the basis for Christian belief and practice. Accordingly, we teach people how to become saved and how to remain saved through biblical spiritual development.
Statement of Basic Beliefs
We believe people simultaneously become Christians and members of the Church of Christ by: hearing and believing the gospel of Jesus Christ; repenting of their sins; confessing Christ to be God’s son; and being buried in baptism for the remission of sins. The same plan that makes one a Christian constitutes him/her a member of the Church of Christ. Membership in the church of Christ is required to be a member of the Midtown congregation.
We worship according to New Testament teachings, including acapella singing, praying, preaching or teaching God’s word, giving and observing Holy Communion every Lord’s Day.
We believe Christians need instruction, support, and edification to mature. Therefore, we teach and assist them in living sanctified lives. We believe they should faithfully engage in opportunities for growth such as, worship, bible study, mentoring, prayer meetings, fellowship and etc.
